Guff came into the world on November 11, 1983, at 7:47 in the morning, at Maple Creek Union Hospital.  At birth, he was named Jarrod Robert Dale Rodin, but before he was a week old, he was known as "the little guffer."

Soon he was just being called "Guffer," and then it was shortened to "Guff."  All who knew him, knew him as "Guff."  All during his school years, he put "Guff" on all of his papers, and even stroked out the name "Jarrod" on the attendance book the teachers  have, and wrote "Guff," instead.

He always said that he was going to legally change his name when he turned 18.  Unfortunately, Guff did not live to see his 18th birthday.  On November 4 (one week prior to his 18th birthday), Guff took his own life.

Guff spent a lot of his time playing hockey. He played most of his years in Maple Creek, but during Midget hockey he played for two out-of-town teams. Guff was also on the broomball team in Maple Creek. And during his spare time, Guff enjoyed snowmobiling. Once the snow started to melt and the weather a bit warmer you could find Guff out on the golf course.

Guff had a real thing for the color orange.even dying his hair orange. As graduation approached, he looked all over for an orange tuxedo. When he couldn't find one, he thought that maybe he would rent a white one and dye it orange. He then decided against this as he didn't want to have to pay for the tux! 

It may sound strange to say, but Guff really did have a love for life. He was always looking for an adventure. At one time he allowed himself to be duct-taped to the wall in the school gym to raise awareness for the school yearbook.

Guff was a very kind and considerate person. He was always there for his family and friends, helping out whenever he was needed. He could always bring a smile to your face even in the most difficult times.
